I once came to Hotel Bellwether for a bridal prep years ago. Since then, I have always wanted to come back to photograph a wedding here. Fast forward to 2024 at the annual Seattle Wedding Show, some bride comes to my table, "Roddy, what are you doing here?" It took me a minute to realize, "OMG Lily how have you been?" I have known Lily since college. And for some reason I always seem to run into her every once a while. And this year, we ran into each other as she just got engaged. We talked for a bit, and agreed that we'd continue the conversation after the wedding show. However, since then I haven't heard from Lily for a month or two. Until April she asked me if I was still available on August 24th and I responded, "dude you're so lucky that I haven't been booked for that date!"
When she described to me the reasons why she picked hotel Bellwether, she imagined a first look towards the water and a beautiful portrait at the lighthouse. And on the wedding day, when I saw the light house and assessing how I could incorporate the couple in it. This beautiful portrait was what I came up with!
