When I first joined my fraternity in college, I was told that you would build lasting friendships that would add value to your life. And that’s exactly what I got to do for my friend Joe on his beautiful wedding day at the Olympic Peninsula.
Joe was actually the chef at my college fraternity house. He always made us the most hearty, delicious meals - I sometimes looked forward to going back to the house after class just so I could eat some of his cooking. Not only was he a great chef, but he was also easily one of the kindest and the most easy-going person I’ve ever met. So when he reached out to me to ask if I could take photos at his wedding, I was thrilled and gladly agreed without hesitation.
He and his wife were just a lovely couple. They were the nicest couple ever and their love for each other just exuded with their every word and action. And they could not have picked a more perfect venue for their wedding. Olympic Peninsula, located west of Seattle, is a beautiful spot for nature lovers - it’s covered with lush evergreens (very characteristic of the Evergreen State!) and surrounded by the Hood Canal. It’s a popular spot for both locals and out-of-state visitors, and for a good reason!
This certainly wasn’t my first time taking wedding photos for a friend, but the feeling of doing something so special for someone close to you never gets old. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to capture Joe’s wedding. He has been an amazing chef for me and my fraternity brothers for years, it feels great to be able to return the favor with my work.
