Wedding photography is not just about taking pictures but also about how you work with a large group of people and making them feel comfortable. It's not unusual to see the wedding party being a bit stiff and reserved at the beginning of the day. However, sometimes it just takes a little bit of ‘apple juice’ to get them going. Especially for the groomsmen, wherever there's beer, they are happy.
This is Matt and Yui's wedding party. I have to tell you they were one of the most amazing groups of people I have ever worked with. All of them were photogenic and totally natural in front of the camera! This picture was taken near the famous Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle right after the ceremony.
The bride and groom had a limo service for us. I was pretty excited since I never hopped on the limo with the wedding party before. However, it wasn’t without any obstacles - a broken AC was broken and lots of detours. What could've been a 10 minutes top ride turned into 30 minutes. As a result, that cut my shooting time in half. But as a wedding photographer, you always have to work with what you have, and that's what I did. I did not waste any time trying to figure out what to do but used the remaining time efficiently to capture one photo after another.
After seeing the images when I got back home, I could barely contain myself with what I got. This was such a fun group, and I wanted to capture just that. I absolutely adored this bridal party!
