Love the way this photo turned out. This was from a styled shoot at Project Obscura, a two-day intensive workshop near Las Vegas for wedding and portrait photographers from around the world. We spent one of the days just shooting non-stop in different locations. We also got to experience different climates. We got to experience snow, sun, and freezing cold wind all in one day - quite different from the typical Las Vegas weather. Nonetheless, the climate and the landscape of Spring Mountain Ranch State Park helped me capture this stunning image.
As the renowned Los Angeles wedding photographer Michael Anthony instructed, we always need to shoot with a purpose and story in mind. In this image, we were narrating the story of a newlywed that just eloped. With the rocky mountain in the background, we had the couple run down the desert path. We wanted this juxtaposition to evoke the emotions of a couple running towards their honeymoon. It was playful but still elegant, and most importantly, it maintained a timeless feel. It's not every day you get to photograph in a gorgeous location like this. The desert gave me so much room to play around with. It was absolutely a photographer's heaven. I would totally come back myself some time in the near future.
