ABOUT Kristine & steve'S WEDDING

If there's a hidden theme to describe Kristine & Steve's wedding, it's not the gorgeous location from Chihuly. It's not the lush floral arrangements. It's not the hype from the 11-piece band. It's the insane amount of champagne bottles they popped throughout the entire day!

Originally, Kristine and Steve were going to have their wedding celebration up north at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. But due to Covid and other complications, they decided to go with the easier route. Getting ready at Fairmont Olympic with ceremony and reception at Chihuly Garden and Glass. And of course there's nothing easy about that. Thanks to the team at Gian Events, they really made the whole wedding day smooth and unforgettable.

As a luxury wedding photographer, our job is not only to capture the beauty in front of our eyes, but also to notice the small things from the couple that encapsulate their personalities. We often get lost in the dazzling beauty right and easily miss the in-between moments that happen behind us. The glass display at Chihuly’s, the florals, the band, all of that matters. But what was just as important was the joy and laughter every time they popped the champagne. It was the tears coming down Kristine and Steve's faces when a bridal party member gave an impactful toast. It was the reaction from everybody at the wedding to the experience the couple and the team had meticulously put together.

I remember during the timeline discussion meeting, Kristine and Steve had already mentioned wanting to pop some champagne bottles here and there.

Intuitively my question was, "how many bottles do you have?" "Oh, we have a lot." And truth be told, they were not joking at all.

Starting from the bridal preparation at Fairmont Olympic, when the girls were in robes they wanted to pop a bottle. When we were out and about at Pike Place Market, they decided to pop another one. During the family portraits? Done. Reception bridal party entrance? Done. Nighttime portrait? Of course.
